The fifth inter-university workshop in National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”

On the 13th of November, 2017 at National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” the fifth inter-university workshop was held. At the seminar the topic “Problems of training specialists in the field of Information Systems and Technologies” was discussed. Representatives from 6 Kharkiv universities, one Kyiv university and 2 Kharkiv IT companies (NixSolutions and Sigma) took part in this event. There were 23 professors and more than 10 guests.

The meeting was opened by Honored master of sciences and engineering of Ukraine, member of the Academy of Science Of Ukraine High School Professor Oleksandr Pavlov.  His speech was about the place which the specialty 126 –  Information Systems and Technologies occupies.

Professor of KhNUE Iryna Zolotaryova presented the way of master’s program development in the field of Information Systems in the framework of MASTIS Project. There were discussed developed courses and main results, which were gained by Ukrainian and European universities within MASTIS project. The main issue was how to prepare competitive specialists. Iryna Zolotaryova shared MASTIS team experience based on the student-oriented principals, strong university-enterprise cooperation and modern approaches to the education, which was performed in order to modernize education in Information System. Representatives of IT companies were totally involved in this discussion.

Then Standards of “Information technologies” subject area were described by Professor of NTU “KhPI” Leonid Lyubchyk.

Special bulletin of Carte Blanche Magazine was presented by Professor Vyacheslav Kharchenko (National Aerospace University named after N.E. Zhukovsky “KhAI”). He informed about Internet of things and cooperation between universities and industry.

The necessity of modern approaches for master-level education in Information Technologies was proved. Progressive European and worldwide experience in this field was studied.
