The 7th workshop of the Erasmus + MASTIS project “ESTABLISHING MODERN MASTER-LEVEL STUDIES IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS” was held on October 2-5, 2018 in the University of Donja Gorica (Montenegro).
The working meeting of the partners was devoted to the development of the Master’s program in the field of Information Systems, the improvement of the quality of education and the latest pedagogical methods in teaching and learning.
The main tasks of the workshop were presentation and discussion of the piloting of courses results in Montenegrin and Ukrainian universities and, also, the question of project management.
The first day of the meeting was held at the University of Donja Gorica, the projects’ participants got acquainted with the educational buildings, library, lecture halls and laboratories equipped by technical tools acquired at the expense of the project MASTIS. The report of professor Maja Drakić “National Rules of Training Courses Assessment – External and Internal Quality Assessment” and the report of professor Tomo Popović “Master’s dissertation in the field of information systems: the choice of the subject of the dissertation, the connection with academic researches and practical application, the dissertation’s defense organization, the membership of the Commission” (at the University of Donja Gorica).
The second day of the meeting was at Podgorica “Mediterranean” University, where the participants of the working meeting visited the educational building, library, lecture halls and laboratories equipped with technical equipment acquired by numerous international projects, in particular MASTIS.
The next events of the meeting were held at the University of Donja Gorica, the reports of professor Snežana Šćepanović “Changes in the current master’s program in the field of information systems”, “Pilot training courses using the “MASTIS Piloting form. Results, proposals, experience” and PhD Tijana Vujicic “Master’s dissertation in the field of information systems: the choice of the subject of the dissertation, the connection with academic research and practical application, dissertation’s defense organization, the membership of the Commission” (at the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica) were presented.
Questions of the dissemination of information on the MASTIS project activities and the sustainability of its results were considered.
The third working day of the meeting was held at the University of Donja Gorica; at the beginning, the report of Maja Delibasic from the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica about inter-project interaction and the projects of EDUQAS and ELEMEND of the ERASMUS + program, implemented by the universities of Montenegro, was presented.
Following the report of the representative of the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica, the presentation of masters of the University of Donja Gorica and the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica were taken place. Representatives of the IT sector, who participated in the master’s studies and assessment of their knowledge, made a speech.
The third working day was finished by a discussion on “Establishment of modern master’s programs in the field of information systems – current status and prospects,” moderated by Professor Snežana Šćepanović from University “Mediterranean” Podgorica.
At the discussion, the directions for further work to improve the master’s program in the field of information systems in accordance with the needs of modern society, the possibility for universities to come closer to changes in the world labor market and educational space, providing students with a presentation of profiles of various workplaces in the field of information systems in order to promote future job placement were determined.
On the last working day, which was at the University of Donja Gorica, the problems of administrative and financial management of the MASTIS project were discussed, the continuation of the working project’s plan, the planning of activities for 2018-2019 were considered.
